Yes what you have heard is true. I am leaving CDCA! I have accepted a position at the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA) and am moving to Washington DC. My last day at CDCA will be August 6th. My new position will be Chief of Membership and Organizational Advancement. As I have worked for 25 years in the field of child care resource and referral, I am thrilled that I will finish my career working at NACCRRA.

CDCA Gives Children's Champion Award

CDCA held its annual meeting on June 17, 2010. Each year CDCA gives The Children's Champion Award to an outstanding child advocate.

CDCA Perfect Play Date at the Magic House Highlights

At the end of June, the Child Day Care Association held our annual Perfect Play Date at the Magic House. The families who attended shared that it was great! The event was a private opening of the Magic House for friends of CDCA. Even though there were hundreds of families in attendance, it wasn't crowded, no waiting for exhibits, and the staff were attentive!

CACFP in the Child Nutrition Reauthorization from the
Food Research and Action Center

CACFP Leaders
The Senate Agriculture committee is set to take up a Child Nutrition Reauthorization bill next week. The Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010, Chairperson Lincoln's (D-AR) draft reauthorization bill, identifies the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) as a nutrition program that contributes to the healthy growth and development of young children.
